The history of the Arnaldo Caprai winery has its roots in a land that has never lost its native grape variety, allowing the Sagrantino vines to survive over the centuries. When Marco Caprai chose to revive the tradition of Sagrantino, he decided to enhance the land with a modern approach, making Montefalco a tradition appreciated far beyond national borders.
To achieve the goal of excellence in the production and distribution of Sagrantino di Montefalco, Arnaldo Caprai focuses on agronomic and oenological research and the sharing of the knowledge acquired on the territory so that the tradition of Montefalco can reach the diffusion it deserves.
The hill of Montefalco is the highest of a hill system on the edge of the Umbrian Valley between Assisi and Spoleto. It is crossed by the rivers Clitunno and Topino. The charm of these places, so attractive from a landscape point of view, is completed by the villages of Montefalco and Bevagna, which overlook the valley: historic architecture for timeless atmospheres.
