A book to leaf through in the open air
Il Bosco dei Pensieri (the wood of thoughts) is the last remaining forest in the Langa del Barolo and houses centuries-old trees, vineyards and hazelnut groves.
The route is divided into twelve stops showcasing a collection of world literature texts and original sketches by the German designer Alexandra von Bassewitz. These highlight the panoramic viewpoints and help visitors to immerse themselves in the history and geography of the Langhe.
You can choose between a 20- and 45-minute walk through 12 hectares and over 40,000 varieties of plants, animal species and precious truffles you may encounter on your way. The park is open all year round, and entry is free, with no reservations required.

In Piedmont, art and culture masterfully go hand in hand with a rich wine and food tradition. From its culturally most relevant cities, like Turin, to its hills, where some of Italy’s most prestigious wines are born, Piedmont cuisine is renowned globally for its diverse and unique offerings. In particular, the Langhe territory, on top of being the cradle of some of the most sought-after food and wine products of the entire peninsula – just think of the white truffle of Alba or the Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto wines – has been declared the 50th Italian site protected by UNESCO for its cultural landscape and vineyards.
